Our clients hear about us from friends, from our monthly outreach campaigns, and from other organizations (e.g. Toronto Employment and Social Services, colleges, adult high schools, Homeward Bound etc.).  We do continuous intake year-round.

  • Approximately 1/2 of our clients are Canadian born.  They may have exited high school early, never entered high school, or struggled throughout due to learning disabilities or personal, family, or health issues.  Regardless of the reason, they exited without fully developed reading, writing and/or math skills
  • We also serve an immigrant population from other English speaking countries, who may or may not have had the opportunity to attend school.
  • Our client base also includes immigrants from non-English-speaking countries who have learned to speak English, but have not developed their reading or writing skills.  Some of these students are literate and highly educated in their 1st language, but struggle with literacy in English.

Program By the numbers – for the year ending March 31, 2023:

Learners Served

73

Note:  EYLE transitioned back to onsite tutoring mid-way through our 2023 fiscal year.  The pandemic and online services resulted in a decline in the overall number of students served.  We  continue to rebuild participation back to pre-covid times through our extensive monthly outreach program.
