We are the established leader in one-to-one adult literacy in East Toronto. Since 1987, we have helped over 1300 adults improve their reading, writing, basic math, and digital literacy skills. Our clients meet weekly in one-to-one sessions with trained, volunteer tutors. They follow an individualized training plan to meet their literacy goals.

We work with the Ontario Adult Literacy Curriculum Framework as mandated by our main funder, the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training & Skills Development (MLITSD). We use milestones designed by the Ministry to measure progress. These milestones are tasks featuring real-life situations, designed for each of the 5 goal paths and the 3 levels of Literacy & Essential Skills.

When a student exits our program, we conduct three, six, and 12 month follow-ups to monitor how their increased literacy skills are helping them succeed.
